Jauquet, William
Return to Images
Working as a real estate broker in Denmark, Wisconsin, he carved a swan figure for his wife's antique store at age 35, which marked the beginning of his new career as a folk art sculptor. Since then he has been creating naive sculpture from cedar wood, native to Wisconsin, gradually progressing to larger group sculptures. In 1985, the American Folk Art Museum held a solo show of his work, which received national attention.
Since the early 1990s, Jauquet has been working on bronze sculptures and painting.
