David Anderson was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1946. In 1963 he began making art and studied life drawing at the Scripps College in Claremont, CA. He attended the San Francisco Art Institute from 1967 to 1971. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards, including three National Endowment for the Art fellowships, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, and a Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art Award from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He has exhibited in galleries and museums, both locally and nationally.
